Pearland ISD Education Foundation welcomes new coordinator

The Pearland Independent School District Education Foundation welcomes Natalie Clogston as its full-time coordinator on Feb. 2.

With more than 10 years of experience in public schools, higher education and industry, Clogston looks forward to facilitating a positive network between the community and district.

“Great things are happening in Pearland ISD! I am excited about the opportunity to share this with community members and business partners and to serve as a connection between our district’s needs and our community’s generosity,” she said.

Pearland attracts 3 new medical facilities

Pearland sits less than 10 miles from the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world. But as the city’s population grows, leading health care providers have focused on Pearland as a prime location for new and expanded medical facilities, office space and administrative headquarters.

The new facilities will bring hundreds of jobs and first-class medical care to a city that has grown from 37,600 residents in 2000 to more than 106,000 in 2014, according to the city of Pearland Planning Department.

Pearland celebrates completion of city's first hospital

The city of Pearland welcomed the Pearland Medical Center as its first-ever hospital during a Jan. 9 ribbon cutting ceremony.

An affiliate of Hospital Corporation of America, the Pearland Medical Center is slated to open to the public Jan. 21. Healthcare services offered at the 144,000 square-foot, $71 million facility will include surgery, laboratory services, diagnostic imaging, labor and delivery and cardiac catheterization.

“To be the first hospital in the community is something special,” said Kevin Fuller, chairman of Pearland Medical Center’s board of trustees.
