Pearland snags the top ranking in the annual Texas Retail Survey for the third year in a row. Ranked No. 1 in the survey, Pearland garnered a 9.2 average five-year percentage growth in retail sales and nearly $962 million in retail sales in 2011.
Popular shopping destinations driving the dollars include The Pearland Town Center, a popular 937,000 square foot shopping destination with Dillards and Macy’s anchor stores; Silverlake Village with big box stores including Target and Michaels; The Crossing at 518 and Shadow Creek Ranch Town Center home to H-E-B Plus.
"Pearland has seen a tremendous amount of retail growth in recent years and these numbers are evident of this growth," Matt Buchanan, president of the Pearland Economic Development Corporation, said in a statement. "We have had outstanding developers construct multiple shopping centers that have been successful in making Pearland a regional shopping destination.
