Following the 70th anniversary of the original Pearland Fire Department, Pearland opened Fire Station 2 early last month. At the ceremony, visitors had the opportunity to tour the new station, which includes 10 dorm rooms, a kitchen, office spaces and an exercise room. The facility is over 10,000 square feet and will house several crews. Greg Bozdech was recognized as Fire Marshal and was sworn in at the event.

In order to combat a lack of activities for suburban children, a Pearland mother opened a kid’s play center in early September. Kid N’ Play Indoor Play Center, located on West Broadway Street, is now open six days a week. The 7,200-square-foot interactive center allows children and their parents to play in a child-sized urban community. The facility also features an indoor jungle gym and separate party rooms.
The fifth annual Boo-Gie Nights is tonight, October 21 at the Knights of Columbus Hall. The event, which includes a Haunted Casino, begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $45 for general admission and can be purchased at the door or online. Additionally, there is a VIP ticket for $75. The event will include a casino, costume contest, snacks and dancing. The event is sponsored by the Community Assistance Providers (CAP) of Greater Pearland.
