The Pearl Theater is in the midst of the “Christmas Belles” production. This holiday comedy, written by Jamie Wooten, Jessie Jones and Nicholas Hope, tells the story of a Southern church’s Christmas program that faces hilarious obstacles and spins out of control. The performances run until December 18 with performances at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and at 3 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $16 with a $2 discount for seniors and students.
The city of Pearland is hosting the annual Hometown Christmas Festival December 2-3 at Memorial Hermann Pavilion. The event kicks off on Friday at 7 p.m. with the lighting of the City Christmas Tree by Mayor Tom Reid and a surprise guest. Attendees can expect horse and carriage rides, live entertainment, a market and hills of snow. Saturday begins at noon and will feature the gift market in addition to cookies with Santa, karaoke, performances and a dusk light show.
The Pearland Bass Pro Shop will celebrate this holiday season with Santa’s Wonderland in their store. Beginning November 13 and running through December 24, Santa’s Wonderland host numerous activities for kids, including a free photo with Santa, a craft table and arcades. The store has been transformed into a holiday experience with cabins, characters and snow, so shoppers will be sure to leave feeling festive.
Join Keep Pearland Beautiful at its 22nd annual family bicycle ride, Tour de Lites, which will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12. This family-fun bicycle ride is a 1.5 hour ride through a Christmas light-filled subdivision. The ride will begin at the Independence Park pavilion at 7 p.m. Registration will end at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12. A hayride will also be available, preregistration required.
